We’ve been getting a lot of these asks recently, so I just want to make clear to you guys that there has been no weeding out or purposeful elimination from the project whatsoever. You have to understand that this kind of venture requires a lot of trust. We have to make sure that the people participating really want to do this, because we really want to do this. We want to have Roaming Reedus hopefully end up with Norman before he finishes shooting Walking Dead and leaves Georgia, which puts us on a tight schedule. I’m not saying the way we handled the confirmations was perfect, but what we can also do is kind of limited when there are a large amount of users pouring in around Tumblr - and it’s Tumblr. We can’t exactly email you, because we haven’t got any of your addresses down. </3
Back to the trust issue, though. A lot of people have done these kinds of projects in the past, and half the time, the people involved decide to keep the travelling doll/print-out/etc. for themselves, or just drop out of the project without telling anyone else, which just ruins the whole thing altogether. The email confirmation was to make sure that people were paying enough attention and were dedicated enough to see this all through. This is for fun, but it’s also serious. We actually want this to work out. We don’t want it to be a pipe dream.
So we apologise with all our hearts if certain complications kept you out of the project - especially with everyone whose internet connections went down - but we really want to get this to Norman and make him smile! It’ll be a pity if we’re too late, or we lose Roaming Reedus along the way from careless hands. There was no favouritism or bias. We don’t even know half of the people participating. We’re just a harried bunch of people who want to make this work.
